- Food on Campus: Healthy and affordable food choices are made available for all on campus. The Office of the Hostel Management (OHM) takes care of the dining facilities for all students in 21 hostels of the Institute. The Committee for Monitoring General Facilities of Students (CMGFS) and Mess Monitoring and Control Committee (MMCC) are tasked with monitoring and ensuring that healthy food choices are provided in a hygienic manner in the hostel dining facilities, Food Courts, Food joints, Eateries, Cafes, etc. Students are involved in decision-making related to procuring food items, planning menu and maintaining hygiene in the kitchen and mess hall. https://www.iitm.ac.in/campus-life/campus-amenities
- MITR: MITR is body of faculties and student MITRs, who offer peer counseling and support according to the student's needs. MITRs are trained in basic counseling skill sand empathy, and are available in almost all the departments and hostels. MITR organizes Barefoot counseling training for the new MITRs in collaboration with the Wellness Centre, and also conduct surveys and events for students based on specific needs. https://www.wellnessiitm.com/mitr-1
- BE Happy: Recently launched, “Be Happy” Initiative lists the various support system available: Kushal meetings, Time-bound grievance redressal, improving life skills, Listeners, Helplines, etc. IIT Madras is continuously striving to ensure that our campus provides each student an environment filled with harmony and peace.
